Lunch Date
with a beautiful friend and then we visited a pretty flower shop.
I had never seen this flower, like a ladyslipper (sorry, I know the picture is not great).

Spatial arrangement
in the young one's room. The coat rack, table and bed have not been working together. So I am trying something different and outfitting them with new duds- the coat rack was not being used, the books would go on the floor and the table top was always cluttered. Hopefully this will work a bit better.

Stalking treats.
We gave the dogs treats. Rosa left her's in the dining room (see it just in front of Oden). Oden crept slowly up to it, one step at a time to make sure his sister didn't catch him. Then plopped himself down and devoured it. Rawhide.
We made popovers again, here is Julia's recipe:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup milk, at room temperature
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs, at room temperature
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted, for greasing the pan
For muffin cups, use 1/4 cup of batter for each cup and alternate cups to leave rising room.
Bake at 425 for 25 minutes with out opening the door and then turn done to 350 for another 15 to 25 minutes.
Thank you Mrs. Child.

Busy
Cleaning up: raking, planting (technically inoculating), checking the bees and finally sewing some produce bags.
growing Shiitake mushrooms, inoculating this log with fungus
this is wax and propolis (a red or brown resinous substance collected by honeybees from tree buds, used by them to fill crevices and to seal and varnish honeycombs. ORIGIN early 17th cent.: via Latin from Greek propolis ‘suburb,’ also ‘bee glue,’ from pro ‘before’ + polis ‘city.’)

Dumplings galore
So, last night I cooked with three wonderful women, we made five different kinds of dumplings to share and store (I don't think mine will be in the freezer very long). Our hostess has ducks, love them, so beautiful.

Where is the sun?
For goodness sake, I am ready for spring.
In other random news, in these last few weeks I thought I could handle being more "informed" regarding news, economy and current events and weakly admit to you now, I can not. It dragged me down to the depths, until I was staring at the ceiling of my bedroom trying to go to sleep with ridiculously devastating scenarios swimming around my head, feeling like a complete failure.Enough.
So, I bought flowers this morning and started fresh. I know the sun will be out soon. Now, time to get back on track and find ways I can help and not hinder. Again, for goodness sake.
